Bikes on trains and boats and planes

Transport in Myanmar is very supportive to your radius of action as a cyclist. We’ve been transporting our bikes on top of buses, in minvans, on boats, in airplanes and in Toyota Proboxes.

All you need is some small gear -like duct tape to bundle cables and small tools to detach pedals, turn handlebars or lower your saddle- , a smile, a little bit of extra kyats but above all the ability to stand back to let it all happen. In allmost every case drivers or service personnel involved have been very considerate, flexible but above all very proficient in securing and fastening the bike on or in wherever it fitted. Enjoy our small collection of transport flavours and setups below.
